This is a tough question, as I have faced this same thing because the new internet is all about being accessible to your clients, visitors and yes to the general public... so how do you maintain your privacy and keep your ID safe from ID theft, and all the hackers, spammers, and cybercriminals??? and yes predators!
Some easy things you can stat with, are:
1) have a business address and phone number... even if you work out of your home you should take precautions to protect your personal life, from your business life...
2) Use caution when filling out any online form including business profiles, membership sites, and social networks! Private or personal information should be well thought out before filling any internet document, because as we all know, anything posted online is there for ever!
3) and lastly use common sense in all actions, transactions, reactions that are done online because all of them come with lasting consequences!!!
examples are simple things like; when posting you email address always use this (at) instead of @ and use your business line instead of your personal home phone number, simply things like these will help protect you!
You can contact the search engines directly and they will work with you the best they can, to correct these problems of your listings... but you're going to have to make this a project because it is going to take time... and you are going have to be patience, because there will be a lot of red tape to go through... to get this resolved!
Hope this helps,
Bill
